Welcome to another week of online learning! For today, you can either experiment with some of the sites from the previous weeks or try the new activities below! Tomorrow, grades 3-4 and 5-6 will be starting some instrumental pieces using materials found in your house! Grades K-2 will continue with daily activities! Instead of weekly tabs, there will be a tab for each grade starting tomorrow. I hope you have a wonderful week!
Kindergarten
Start today by reviewing your rhythms!
Ta - clap once- one sound in a beat
Ti ti- clap twice- two sounds in a beat
Follow the rhythm review video below! It goes fast so try practicing it a few times!!

Once you have done that, try to use some items around your house to create your own rhythm! I used spoons and forks to create mine! Make sure to ask a parent or guardian before you use items around the house. Once you have created your rhythm, perform it for someone. You could even take a video of yourself performing it or a picture of your rhythm and send it to me!
Grade 1/2
Use a bouncy ball of some kind for this activity! In music, we have been reviewing staccato and legato.
Staccato means short and bouncy.
Legato means smooth.
Listen to the song "Popcorn" and the song "The Syncopated Clock" on youtube. You can find the links below. When the music is short and bouncy, bounce the ball. When the music is smooth, wave it in the air! For the Syncopated Clock, when you hear the toy phone, you can throw the ball up in the air (just like we raise the parachute up in music during that part when we hear the triangle- this is just a different recording). Have fun!

Grade 3/4
Use the following website to create your own drum beat. First, experiment with the site to get a feel for it. Please don't save your work- just use it for fun experimenting!
Website: https://www.onemotion.com/drum-machine/
Next, create a drum beat of your own. Start by using 3 or 4 different sounds only. Remember that music is full of patterns, so see if you can create a pattern.
If you like your beat, feel free to video it and send it to me- I would love to see it!
Grade 5/6
Today you will also be using the website https://www.onemotion.com/drum-machine/ to create a drum beat. You can start by experimenting. Please do not save your work- just use this site for fun!
Create a drum pattern of your own. Choose 5 or 6 different sounds. See if you can create a pattern. Make the pattern repeat itself a few times and then try switching it up. Feel free to create a video of your drum beat and send it to me!
